Really and truly anyone who is willing to explore their thoughts, beliefs, emotions and how those interact and effect one's life. The first important part of therapy is that you feel comfortable with your provider. Please feel free to schedule an informal phone call to ask me questions and get to know me a little if that would help you decide if I am the right provider for you. If we are not a correct match I would be happy to work with you to see what you are looking for and connect you with some of my wonderful colleagues in the field! This is a very personal journey and I want you to feel that you matter in it and are connected well with your provider-whether that is me or someone else!
No, you do not need to know if you have a diagnosis before you work with me. I am trained to be able to take your history and explore possible things that may be getting in the way for you in your life. Though it is important to remember one is not defined by a diagnosis and it is not meant to be interpreted as a life alternating and/or negative thing. In fact many people find comfort in knowing and understanding their clinical diagnosis so they have a framework of how to best go about managing it in their daily life.
You will schedule an an hour time slot and you will see your provider face to face for 45-50mins of that hour. The reason for this is so that the provider can complete a progress note & bill for your session in the other ten minuets of the hour. This is typical protocol in the field as this allow the practitioner to manage work/life balance (that we often preach!) and stay caught up on notes and associated required paperwork. Frequency for outpatient sessions are typically once per week or biweekly. Though you may talk with your provider on what session frequencey you think will benefit you most.
I currently take Prevea360, United Behavioral Health(UBH), Optum, UMR, Molina, Humana, Kepro EAP and CuraLinc EAP, Common Ground.
Currently have applied to others and are in the waiting process to hear back. Please email or call if you would like to know if your insurance has recently been approved
Insurance REQUIRES that I as the practitioner provide them with a diagnosis and based on this diagnosis they will sometimes dictated what kind of therapy and/or how many sessions you are allotted in therapy. Paying out of pocket allows freedom in treatment and lets you work with your provider to choose the best course of action regarding the services you receive.
Currently I do not provide an office setting for appointments. I find that clients often are more comfortable in their own home which facilitates increased sharing and contentedness with the provider.
At this time my license to practice psychotherapy is through the state of Wisconsin, therefore I can see anyone who is in the state lines *at the time of the appointment* (via my HIPPA compliant telehealth platform) but, I am legally not allowed to see clients outside of the state of Wisconsin. This means that if you are on vacation outside of the state at the time of your session you will need to reschedule.
